I am always amazed about the stories that come from pieces of furniture, some say everything holds energy from the past and I believe this has some truth as with furniture it seems to tell the story as it is passed through time. This chair I gladly welcomed was from Forbes and the owner told me the chair was going home. The chair had come from her Mother who she explained always called it her Grandfather’s chair and their family was from Canowindra, either a Shearer or a Russell, well known names in the town. So this grand old chair which would be not too shy of 100 years old I’d guess, it has finally returned to it’s home town and ready for it’s next journey. If this chair really did tell a story it would be a strong and mighty story because this chair has some scars but it is in great condition considering it’s age.
I have restyled this antique beauty using chalk paint, gold detail and sealing. I have added a bright and cheerful fabric to the upholstery making it a stunning feature piece.
The chair is in good condition and will be a delightful addition to any room as a special feature.
